Acer Liquid C1 with its first smartphone with an Intel processor on the market. In the housing rotates Z2460-soc with clock speed of 1.2 GHz. Earlier came Motorola, Lenovo and ZTE all with Intel smartphones.

The Liquid C1 is already available from this month in Thailand and is based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, as announced by Acer during a private event. Besides the Atom soc Intel hardware consists of a 4.3 “screen with 960×540 pixels and an 8-megapixel camera for taking photos and videos. The Z2460-soc was recently at CES announced by Intel and is intended for use in budget smart phones.

There were already rumors out that Acer was planning on releaing a smartphone on the market based on an Intel processor. There were also a number of other manufacturers such as Motorola, ZTE and Lenovo, all Intel-based smartphones. The chip manufacturer has its Atom SOCs for mobiles not yet built up large market share.
