While the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have just been announced, and they will be on sale until September 25, TSMC said to have had exclusivity on the production of A10 processor. To recall, a recent trial revealed that an employee of Samsung stole trade secrets to TSMC for commands A9 processor. Obviously, faced with such a case, Apple seems to have made the most obvious choice for the future iPhone 7.
In fact, TSMC is currently preparing its plants in A10 processor which will begin production in March 2016.
The A10 processor will FinFET from a manufacturing process 16 nanometers allowing to have more finesse – while being more performance and more energy efficient.
In addition, TSMC said it continues to produce embedded A8 chip in the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod touch 6G and demonstrate the new Apple TV, which is launching in late October.[via China Times]
