Apple Launches Betas iOS 12.1, watchOS 5.1 and tvOS 12.1 For Developers

A few days ago, Apple released iOS 12 and watchOS 5 to the public, and we are still discovering all its new features.

However, the Cupertino company did take a break on the development of both firmware and has just made available to developers iOS 12.1 beta 1 and watchOS 5.1 beta 1.

This update is available on Apple website for developers and should also be available via OTA for iPhone and iPad with iOS 12 beta and Apple Watch with watchOS 5 beta from the Settings menu, General and Software Update.

As usual, we should wait to see what these new betas include or improve. Although some developers have confirmed the appearance of group Facetime calls, a novelty already announced and that was available in beta versions. It seems that it has become available again.

These beta versions of iOS and watchOS are the developer-specific ones and not the public betas. Even so, there will not be much left for users of Apple’s public beta program to see the update to iOS 12.1 and watchOS 5.1.

The public beta, although it is available to any user, does not stop being a beta version and, as such, we should treat it. Even so, since the official version is already available, it is expected that betas will now focus more on small errors and improvements and not so much on the stability and performance of the operating system.

Next to the betas of iOS 12.1 and watchOS 5.1 comes TVOS 12.1 beta 1, the beta version for developers of the Apple TV operating system.

Remember that you can already download iOS 12 on your iOS device with iOS 11, as well as update your Apple Watch – if compatible – to watchOS 5. And, in case you want to sign up for Apple’s public beta program, remember that you can Do from this web page with your Apple ID.
