The National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI) Brazilian officially“denied Apple’s iPhone trademark registration” . This is not a surprise, a local newspaper stated a week ago that the INPI would grant Gradiente the company exclusive rights to the iPhone trademark.

The company had filed the mark in 2000 and was granted in 2008. The term “iphone” it is the contraction of Internet Phone. It has in its catalog the iphone Neo One , a terminal operating Android bought round $300

Apple can proceed to promote their telephones in Brazil below the title iPhone since the choice of the INPI does now not intrude out there. Then again Gradiente has the opportunity of bringing an motion for breach of its exclusivity.
