Mark Gurman, who previously provided details regarding Apple releases before they occur, issued yesterday that the operating system the next Apple TV would use is to be be called “TVOS”. If we compare the way of writing with iOS or watchOS, we realize at once that, at least, are spelled the same, if by “same” we understand that the initials of OS (Operating System) are capitalized and letters define the type of device are in lower case. In November last year, a company called Television OnStream LLC recorded these acronyms in different countries around the world.

When Apple wants to register a service or a device without knowing that it is they who are behind the project, the Cupertino company usually use company names that did not exist at the time of filing the application. If we add Gurman statements with the mysterious company that registered the brand TVOS, I think the thing is quite clear: Apple registered the trademark last year for use from October on your Apple TV 4.
