Two months after the release of iOS 7.1.1, Apple has extended technical upgrade of the operating system aimed at eliminating errors. Download iOS 7.1.2 update for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad is available right now by going to General -> sfotware update on your device settings
The new iOS 7.1.2 firmware fixes a few iBeacon bugs and Mail app. The problem with the release is that the iPhone and iPad with the previous firmware did not encrypt e-mail attachments. As found in early May, a computer security expert Endrea Kertz used on millions of “Apple”mobile devices, including images, documents and other content in the clear.
In addition, iOS 7.1.2 has closed a security vulnerability that allows anyone to bypass the screen for entering PIN-code on the iPhone and access the applications on your smartphone. At the same time the vulnerability used Pangu software to jailbreak iOS 7.1.1 and 7.1, remained in the OS as on the update of iOS 7.1.2 have been completed before the Chinese developers have released their tool.
This update contains bug fixes and security updates, including:
- Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability
- Fixes a bug with data transfer for some 3rd party accessories, including bar code scanners
- Corrects an issue with data protection class of Mail attachments
Install iOS 7.1.2 firmware from the menu can be iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, or downloading IPSW-file on the links further and using iTunes. The update is available to users iPhone 4 or newer model phone, iPod touch 5G, as well as the iPad 2 or newer model of the tablet including iPad mini.
