Apple sells micro-USB adapter for the new iPhone 5 Lightning connector. Apple already sells a similar adapter for the 30-pin connector on previous iPhones. Apple introduced the adapter after European agreements were made, with different manufacturers decided that smartphones with the same adapter, rechargeable should be.
After showing its iPhone 5, among others, a new interface connector Lightning was introduced, Apple has started selling the adapter with micro USB on the Lightning for European users. As becomes clear from the title, it can charge iPhone 5, being available only cable micro USB, connects to the phone via this same adapter.
Such a move by Apple to explain what the European norms by which all smartphones sold in the region, should be able to charge via cable micro USB. It is for this reason, last year kupertinovtsy started in Europe sales adapter with 30-pin connector to micro USB.
Fortunately for Apple, European law does not require companies to use the USB-connector in smartphones – to freely sold, the device just needs to be available to the appropriate adapter. The cost of that of the Apple is £15/€19.
The new micro usb adapter is considerably more expensive than what Apple charges for the 30-pin adapter that since last year sold for 9 euros. The new lightning-connector compared to the iPhone 5 is 80 percent smaller than the 30-pin connector to the iPhone 4S used by Apple. Besides the iPhone 5 also uses the smaller connector for new iPod touch .
