Apple to send invitations for the iPad mini event for October 10

Rumors surfaced today in Apple circuit that the company scheduled an event on October 1o for the launch of the iPad Mini. The news was brought out by the usually reliable Fortune in their product a big Apple investor job.

According to the source, the invitations are to be sent on October 10, is still unclear when and where the event will take place. But when we look at the announcement of the iPhone 5 it seems to be obvious that the event will take place one week later on October 17.

According to our source, who asked not be named, there appears to be some truth to the widespread rumors that Apple is preparing to launch a smaller and cheaper version of the iPad — often called the iPad mini or iPad air and usually described as having a 7.85-inch screen. 

What our source adds is the specificity of a date: The press, he says, can expect invitations to go out on Oct. 10.

Fortune source has asked not to be mentioned by name, but knows to report that the smaller and cheaper iPad shortly after the announcement will be available. This will mean that the iPad Mini somewhere towards the end of October or beginning of November will be available.

If the rumors are proven to be true then it seems that Apple has more than enough time for the product to be released before the Christmas season begins. An announcement on Wednesday, October 17, will mean that the iPad Mini will possibly hits the market on Friday, November 2.

In August the website AllThingsD, which is known for its good relationship with Apple reported that, sometime in October, Apple has planned an event for the smaller and cheaper iPad.
