Despite the fact that Apple preparing to release a 4,8-inch smartphone, the Taiwanese resource Digitimes, citing its own informants reported that Cupertino giant will release this year, two smartphones, but their screens remain 4-inch diagonally.
Earlier it was reported that Apple allegedly plans to introduce in 2013 cheapening version of the device with a larger screen. But Digitimes sources indicate that while Apple is indeed working on the iPhone with a larger display, this year, such a device will not work. Instead, in 2013, will be released two smartphones Apple, one of which will be designed for the middle segment of the market.
Previously it was said that Apple would release a lower-cost version of its iPhone with a bigger screen in 2013. But the sources claimed that Apple is indeed developing an iPhone with a bigger screen, but that will not be among the models to be launched this year.
However, Digitimes notes that while it is not clear whether Apple to provide an adequate supply of in-cell screens for cheaper iPhone. Because of problems with the production of such displays, Apple sold in 2012, less smart than it would otherwise. Now the situation with the release of suitable in-cell display significantly improved, but perhaps not enough to ensure the complete satisfaction of the demand for reduction in price of iPhone.
Meanwhile, the supply of iPhone, is projected to reach about 37 million units in the first quarter of 2013, with 20 million of them will be in the iPhone 5. In the second quarter, shipments of iPhone 5 will decrease further to around 18 million units.
