Consumers not ready to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 8

With the release of the Windows 8, consumers in the U.S.  are reluctant to the switch to the new operating systems from Microsoft, but many are willing to switch to a Mac os xor iPad iOS, rather than to make an upgrade in the near future. In particular, about one-third of users of Windows 7, Vista and XP announced plans to buy a computer company Apple.

USA Today published the results of a study conducted by Avast before the start of sales of Windows 8. Responses came from 350 000 people, of whom about 135,000 were users of a product Microsoft.

60% of respondents said that they knew about the release of  Windows 8. However, only 9% of them said they will speed up the decision to buy a new computer for the OS, while 70% did not wish to be updated.

According to AVAST, buying a new computer has reflected 16% of users of Windows. 58% of them are looking at the PC to Windows 8, 30% plan to buy a tablet iPad, and 12% – Computer Apple.

In AVAST users explained conservatism in general stable work Windows 7 and fears of possible errors in the new OS. In addition, they may scare unfamiliar interface of Windows 8.

Global sales of Windows 8 began on the night of October 25/26. According to estimates of Microsoft, three days after being admitted to selling desktop platform has sold over 4 million copies. The , Windows 8 Professional operating system is available for$139 in retail stores, or at the price of $69, product key card only on the Internet.
