Huawei is facing another problem in the United States: FBI, NSA and CIA have advised against US users to buy smartphones from the company.
Heads of FBI, CIA and NSA said they would not recommend Huawei to the Americans: “We are deeply concerned about the risks of allowing any company or entity that is beholden to foreign governments that don’t share our values to gain positions of power inside our telecommunications networks.” In addition, the US government is blocking any type of government contract signed with Huawei, advising even private carriers and ISPs to use the company’s telecommunications equipment.
FBI, CIA and NSA have also advised US citizens not to buy Huawei phones, as they “integrate functions that can modify or steal private information and implement a real spying that is not detectable by the user”. All this would be linked to the close relationship between Huawei and the Chinese government.
Huawei has obviously defended itself from these accusations, saying that the US government is doing everything to hinder the dissemination of its technologies in the country.
