TetherBerry, an application for BlackBerry smartphones that lets you access your phone’s Internet connection on a connected laptop computer, has been renamed Tether. The name was changed because the app is headed to handsets other than BlackBerries, including Android devices. The app is available in the BlackBerry App World right now, but Tether’s announcement says that an Android version is in beta testing right now, meaning an official release isn’t too far away. Even more interestingly, the release also names Apple’s iPhone as a future platform. That’s interesting because AT&T hasn’t enabled tethering on the iPhone yet. [via mashable]
