The iPad will be realeased without some of the applications created by Apple and installed automatically on the iPhone and iPod touch. Small utilities Calculator, Weather, Clock, Stock and Dictaphone. Their absence from the main screen picture of the Apple iPad had already been noticed. Some had even imagined that to replace the iPad (via iPhone OS) would adopt a system of widgets as found for example on Android.

None of this says John Gruber on the basis of well-informed sources said, this collection of utilities will not be there on D-Day decision to Steve Jobs.
The latter would have simply said that the result of their adaptation with the same interface, the format of the iPad was not very successful. Perhaps they will return in another form, with a completely revised interface ... maybe not.
The developers of similar applications exist on the App Store will go anyway to forego attempting to take their place in the hearts of users. With the advantage that these applications can be uninstalled at will while it was impossible to remove those when Apple was still no use
