Foxconn, Apple production factory is working on building five factories in Brazil. According to Julio Semeghini, Secretary of Planning and Development of the State of São Paulo, the Five factories will have 1,000 workers each to help with Apple products demand. So far the location is unknown, a meeting was set between Foxconn and officials from Brazilian government to set up it up.
All indicate that the expansion of Foxconn in South American is official, together with the granting to begin producing the acclaimed multi-touch Apple tablet. According to data published by Katie Marsal of AppleInsider, this development seems to move away from rumors to become a fact:
"The news was announced by the Secretary of State Planning and Development of St. Paul, July Semeghini . He said the five factories, which are an addition to the one you think you are producing iPads and iPhones, will house about 1000 workers. "
"We are waiting for chinese executives to return from New Year's hollidays to reengage negotiations," said Semeghini.
Apple depends on Foxconn to build their iPads and iPhones. This will also have a significant amount of jobs and help with the production of the iPad. These five new factory will produce other devices ranging from laptops to general electronics.
