Opera Software continues to improve the user experience of its mobile browsers, adding features to approximate them using the desktop browser.
Here are some of the many features included in Opera Mini 5:
- Tabbed Browsing: Browse several Web sites at the same time, while easily jumping from one to another.
- Speed Dial: Get to your favorite Web page with just one click, with a set of visual bookmarks when you open a new tab.
- Opera Link: Synchronize your bookmarks and Speed Dial between your mobile phone and desktop computer.
- Download Manager: Manage downloads right from the browser. Pause and resume downloads to suit your needs.
Opera is saying this is “The Next Generation of Mobile Browsing. Runs on Almost Every Phone.”. “Almost” every phone, means one major device is still missing from their huge list. The iPhone. Opera has their newest mobile browser ready for the iPhone, it just all depends on if Apple will approve it for the App Store.
As for Opera Mini 5 on Android devices, it runs very fast. Compression of text and images actually takes place on Opera’s servers, saving load times on your device. The beautiful, but simple, UI lends itself well to the touch screen environment.
