Blackberry Slider Photos Leaks out?

While you can’t really confirm the authenticity of this picture, this is apparently a leaked picture of the upcoming BlackBerry slider phone which could well be those of the BlackBerry Storm 3, images confirming the rumor that this model would be the first brand to be equipped with a sliding keyboard (slider ).

 
 

According to the rumors you may hear is everywhere, it is left as Research In Motion plans to launch a BlackBerry device that contains a Qwerty keyboard slipping. It's hard to look and comment on the components of this new device causing so many rumors, but according to the latest news, we can assume that resembles the Palm Pre. It was also whispered that the slider BlackBerry include a portrait-oriented slider. However, there are also reports that focus on nouveutés about the Storm-slider. 

Regarding other details about the new model of BlackBerry, it is unclear if the device display will touch or not. This requires some confirmation. But we know that the BlackBerry will be a slider slider GSM / HSPA. He also said that the BlackBerry slider has dimensions of standard screen BlackBerry that is 360 x 480. The slider will work with the BlackBerry system information 6.0. In addition, the BlackBerry slider bear the Wi-Fi 802.11n. So overall, the new BlackBerry device appears to be an interesting watch.

Tetherberry: Becomes Tether/Tethering on your blackberry

TetherBerry, an application for BlackBerry smartphones that lets you access your phone’s Internet connection on a connected laptop computer, has been renamed Tether.

The name was changed because the app is headed to handsets other than BlackBerries, including Android devices.

The app is available in the BlackBerry App World right now, but Tether’s announcement says that an Android version is in beta testing right now, meaning an official release isn’t too far away. Even more interestingly, the release also names Apple’s iPhone as a future platform.

That’s interesting because AT&T hasn’t enabled tethering on the iPhone yet. [via mashable]

BlackBerry Outage Affects Users Across South and North America

 

Lots of users reports issues with their BlackBerry Internet Service and RIM officially acknowledged the problem saying that this is their fault not the carriers’ fault. BIS users from all over North and South America are now experiencing problems in receiving emails on their handsets, however, phone, data and other services work fine.

According to Rogers spokesman, the BES accounts are fine, but they are aware of the BlackBerry outage. At the moment RIM is working hard to restore the BIS functionality to its users even if it could take a while. We don’t know if there is a connection between Sprint and BlackBerry outages, but this is very unlikely as users from Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile reported issues with their BIS.

BlackBerry Storm2 Coming to Verizon on Wednesday

 

Following Vodafone’s Oct. 15 announcement, Verizon Wireless announced that it, too, will offer Research In Motion’s Blackberry Storm2 smartphone beginning Oct. 28. The smartphone will be priced, after a $100 mail-in rebate, at $179.99 with a two-year contract.
 
 The Storm2 is a fully touch-screen device with a 3.25-inch high-resolution display with a resolution of 480 by 360 pixels and 184 pixels per inch. It offers 3G, 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, as well as voice calling in 220 countries, data access in 185 and 3G in 80 of those. It’s compatible with EV-DO Rev. A, 2100MHz UMTS/HSPA and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks, and it features SurePress technology, which is said to make the experience of typing on the touchscreen both easy and very much like typing on a true keyboard.
 
The original Storm, RIM’s first touch-screen device, was roundly criticized, and in response RIM not only added the Wi-Fi connectivity but improved SurePress, threw in a 2GB memory card and updated the Storm 2 to BlackBerry OS 5.0, which is said to offer better typing accuracy, usability and visual enhancements and more use of animation.

Verizon posts BlackBerry Storm 2 emulator

Verizon has a BlackBerry Storm 2 emulator on its web site and it's very cool. Every carrier should do this for their smartphones if you ask us. We were dying to play with the Palm Pre's WebOS before it came out and this would have been a fantastic way to get the feel of the new device.  The emulator works surprisingly well, and it seems fast.  Verizon hasn't said a word about the Storm 2 despite RIM's official announcement, but if they have the emulator up their going to be offering this thing soon.  Check it out at the link below.
