With the introduction of iCloud, Apple has made available to all users of a system to make a backup on the cloud, and then restore it on the device, in case of repair or replacement. iOS 10 further enhances this functionality by allowing you to assign a priority to download applications.
One of the advantages of backup to iCloud is certainly to be able to restore your data at any time and without the need of a computer with iTunes, provided you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. After restoring data, iOS automatically download all applications.
IOS 10, if you have an iPhone with 3D Touch, you can make a firm pressure on the app icon in download to assign a priority, so that we can first download the applications you urgently need.
Apple is also working on the end-to-end encryption for backups to iCloud to increase security further, presumably with news that we will see the final version of iOS 10.
