Mobile advertising platform Opera Mediaworks has released another review of the mobile advertising market for the IV quarter of 2013. According to analysts , iOS ahead of rival Android operating system in terms of traffic and advertising revenue for the period.
Overview is based on data platform Opera Mediaworks, which provides monthly more than 60 billion ad impressions on 13,000 mobile websites and applications with monthly coverage of more than 400 million users.
In the final quarter of 2013 the share of iOS had 43.4% of the mobile advertising traffic and 55.7% of corporate income from mobile advertising impressions . Of iOS- devices the most traffic ( 28.7 %) and generated income ( 40%) accounted for smartphones iPhone. For the iPad , these figures are estimated at 10.6 % and 12.7 %, respectively.
For comparison – advertising traffic from Android-devices in the IV quarter was approximately 37.7 %, and revenues – about 31.7% of the total. Virtually all of this interest was generated by Android- smartphones ( 35.8% and 20% respectively ) .
Other platforms are significantly behind the leaders – so share the BlackBerry traffic volume and revenue was 2.11% and 1.35 %, respectively , Symbian could outstrip its traffic ( 4.21 % ), but not in terms of revenue (0.84 % ) and Windows- mobile devices and have not achieved the level of 0.5 % for both parameters.
The volume of traffic in the mobile advertising world in the fourth quarter increased by 52% , the report said Opera Mediaworks. The U.S. accounts for almost 49 % of the advertising traffic and 70 % of revenue. Russia ranked fourth in the top 20 countries in the world on mobile advertising traffic – besides the U.S. , ahead of its India and Indonesia . Android was the leader in terms of advertising traffic from mobile devices in developing countries ( 47.6 % versus 14.9 % for iOS).
