Without any doubt, the iPhone 5 is the most popular product that Apple has ever developed, since its first day, the new smartphone is already sold out. The company announced after the first three days that over five million units had been sold and it was estimated that Apple could sell as many as 10 million of units by its debut . The problem seems to be that especially for Apple, Foxconn currently is not meeting the demand of the device . This would have to deal with the complex design of the iPhone 5, according to several insiders, the smartphone is the hardest device that Foxconn has ever made.
A Foxconn official told the Wall Street Journal “ To make it light and thin, the design is very complicated. It takes time to learn how to make this new device. Practice makes perfect. Our productivity has been improving day by day.”
The source further confirmed the rumors that Foxconn has taken steps to ensure that there are no long small dents and scratches that are found on the casing of the iPhone 5. A new procedure will ensure that damaged appliances no longer leave the factory. It was also noted that the coating layer of the aluminum rim is susceptible to scratching. “It’s always hard to satisfy both aesthetic needs and practical needs”.
Earlier this month we wrote that a large number of Foxconn employees went on strike over the renew quality standards of the fifth-generation iPhone, this production would further behind and it is debatable if Apple can meet consumers demand of the iPhone 5.
