A couple days ago, Apple presented three new iPhones: 8, 8 Plus and the iPhone X. Each phone has its pros and cons, now the question is which one should you buy or which one is the one for you?
First let’s look at the iPhone 8, the first smartphone in which Apple introduced iPhone 8 the Qi wireless charging, alongside the AirPower wireless station, which can charge three devices at the same time.
This new phone is integrated with A11 Bionic processor, the same is installed in the iPhone X, the most powerful mobile chip in the world, optimized for machine learning and augmented reality. The first games based on ARKit will soon appear in the App Store, and as the company claims, the iPhone 8 and X were optimized for it.
both phones have 12 megapixel camera with aperture f/1.8, supports optical stabilization and can record 4K video at 60FPS or 1080p 240FPS frame rate.
However the iPhone 8 supports True Tone technology, which changes the color temperature depending on ambient light. Unlike the iPhone 8 Plus and X, the iPhone 8 can still be easily operated with one hand. iPhone X is also well managed, but costs a few tens of thousands more.
- Only has one rear camera, meaning it does not support portrait mode and the new Portrait Lighting feature, which changes the face illumination in the picture.
- The resolution of the 4.7-inch screen is still lower than that of the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X – 1334×750. With this resolution it’s harder to see the small details in the photos and videos.
- Has the weakest battery of the three new iPhone. Its exact capacity is unknown, but Apple has promised that the battery life of the iPhone 8 will be about the same as that of the iPhone 7.
Secondly, the iPhone 8 Plus has almost all the new features that are available in the iPhone X. Featuring the new A11 Bionic processor, and wireless charging, dual camera on the rear panel, and a True Tone display. Also has a Home button and Touch ID.
It has the best battery life of all three new iPhones and you do not have to wait for developers to optimize applications, unlike iPhone X.
iPhone 8 Plus Cons:
Until now, this is a large smartphone that loses to competitors in the corps / display ratio. Although the 5.5-inch Full HD screen has excellent color rendering, it still will not be as bright and saturated as the iPhone X OLED display.
In fact, this is not such a cheap smartphone. The iPhone 8 Plus at 256 GB costs 76,990 rubles, which is three thousand less than the 64 GB iPhone X.
Thirdly, let’s look at the premium Apple smartphone: the iPhone X. Visually, this is the most impressive and futuristic iPhone design, thanks to the frameless 5.8-inch OLED display. With this phone, you will get a large screen in a small casing. The iPhone X is slightly larger than the iPhone 8, but noticeably smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus. The smartphone will be convenient to use with one hand.
OLED-display is more bright and contrast than the displays of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and also supports HDR-video.
You can unlock your smartphone just by looking at it, thanks to the new Face ID technology. Using the sensors used for Face ID, you can create Animoji animated emoticons and take portrait shots with a blurry background and portrait lighting on the front camera. The aperture value of the iPhone X telephoto lens is lower than that of the iPhone 8 Plus (f/2.4 vs. f/2.8).
Both rear cameras of the iPhone X have optical stabilization, which should improve the quality of pictures in poor light.
iPhone X Cons:
This is the most expensive iPhone.
He does not have a Home button and a Touch ID. Every time you want to unlock a smartphone, you’ll have to look at it.
Perhaps you do not like gestures for returning to your home screen and opening multitasking.
Cutout in which the front camera and other sensors are located. In some applications, this cutout hides part of the content, for example, in a video.
