The iPhone Dev Staff has simply launched a brand new model of Redsnow on their weblog. This permits iOS 5 to tethered jailbreak. The next gadgets are supported:
- iPhone 3G
- iPad 1
- iPod touch third / fourth generation
- iPhone4 (GSM)
- iPhone4 (CDMA)
The jailbreak is only for developers jailbreak apps that already or want to try their apps still work. For ordinary users, the jailbreak strongly discouraged because things do not work too much.
On a phone that you need daily, it can not be used. Apple's official apps, applications from the App Store and Cydia and MobileSubstrate apps might not work. But if you are a developer and want to perform bug fixes already jailbreak apps under iOS 5 need to run.
Note that people who want to perform an unlock or their baseband to keep the update to iOS should stay away from this. If you have an unlocked baseband , you probably lose if you install the iOS 5. For starters we want to emphasize that iOS 5 is not yet officially released by Apple and you should not install the firmware.
The jailbreak is only tethered. Possibly you can also use Redsn0w on the upcoming version of iOS 5-betas.
