A few hours from the Apple iOS 5 beta 7 version was distributed to the developers. As in the previous beta version, one could install the new beta version of iOS 5 again on the Over-the-air function. The current version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b7 is able to jailbreak the new iOS 5 Beta 7, you just select the iOS 5 Beta 6 firmware.
- iPod 3G
- iPod 4G
- iPad 1
- iPhone 3G
- iPhone 4 (GSM & CDMA)
The dev team also noted that this jailbreak jailbreak developers should only be used to want to test their apps. Furthermore, you should note that you can use with a device gejailbreakten no other over-the-air updates. You must therefore use the normal way and install the beta version of iTunes future.
Quote of the IOS MuscleNerd 5 Beta 6:
We've released redsn0w 0.9.8b6 to jailbreak iOS5 beta6 (point it directly at the beta6 IPSW). Two important notes about this version: (1) Please let your device to boot normally and do a clean shutdown IOS5b6 (slide to power off ) before jailbreaking. (2) Boat logos have been intentionally disabled for now, so you'll see a black screen on tethered boots (you can re-enable verbose boot logos or with command-line options if you really want them back).
Quote from MuscleNerd the iOS 5 Beta 4:
The OTA update will not work on 5.0b4 JB devices due to an explicit check of / Applications .. almost like a present from Apple
NOTE: It appears that by design, the OTA update that became available starting with 5 beta4 IOS will * not * be automatically applied to jailbroken devices. That's a relief to those who do not want to lose their OTA pushes jailbreak. If you're jailbroken, you'll need to use the iTunes default method to get to IOS 5 beta4.
The actual jailbreak process is known to be carried out very simply and quickly. The complete process is identical to the previous RedSn0w jailbreak. You get a complete guide of the program, we need you to perform the jailbreak. If you still need a guide, you can read about each step.
Important notes for the jailbreak:
- You must select the IOS 5 Beta 6 firmware in RedSn0w, so does the jailbreak.
- You have as your first unit with iOS 5 Beta 7 start up normally and then turn off the power clean (long press the power button and then turn off)
If you are dependent on an unlock, you should keep away from this jailbreak method, because your baseband version will be updated thereby. Therefore, you should use Snowbreeze perform the jailbreak.
You have to remember only that this is a tethered jailbreak. That means you need every time you restart your device connected to your computer and boot with the help of RedSn0w tethered to the jailbreak can still be used.
Here you can download either version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b7:
- Windows version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b7
- Mac version of RedSn0w 0.9.8b7
