LG G3 smartphone showed the best results during testing battery life under close to reality conditions, leaving behind competing models from Apple, Samsung, Sony and HTC. In addition to testing the flagship, LG was compared next to the iPhone 5s, Galaxy S5, Xperia Z2 and One M8.
The study was conducted by specialists Phone Arena with a special script that simulates a typical power consumption during use of the device (calls, games, checking email, web surfing). Testing has shown the LG smartphone battery lasts 8 hours 50 minutes. In the same test iPhone 5s clocked 5 hours 2 min., Due to a more modest device battery – 1570 mAh vs 3000 mAh. Other models were somewhat better: Samsung Galaxy S5 – 8 hrs 20 min., Xperia Z2 – 8 hrs 10 min., One M8 – 7 hours 12 min.
The 5.5-inch LG G3 has a 3000 mAh battery capacity. However, this is only one among smartphones, which has a display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (534 ppi), of course, has an impact on energy consumption too.
Moreover, researchers also discovered how long it takes trial participants to fully charge the battery. LG G3 was the best with a score of 120 minutes. Galaxy S5 behind the winner 2 minutes, but the rest “experimental” charging time was much higher: HTC One M8 took 207 minutes, Sony Xperia – 212 minutes
