We compared only the basic configuration to each other here. The prices of the best versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook we have listed in the table above. If you want the high-end configurations, of course you have wages significantly more.Top Models in price comparison

The MacBook Air 11 inch in top configuration with 2.2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe flash memory costs $1,799.

The m0st powerful MacBook Air can be $1,999,  Apple 13-inch with 2.2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe flash memory with a median listed for $1,799. The high-end configuration of the new MacBook will have a 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Core M, 8 GB RAM and 512 GB PCIe flash memory. Unfortunately, Apple called no price yet for this BTO configuration.

Processors in comparison

The new MacBooks are equipped with Intel’s new Core M processors, which are located both in terms of performance as well as power consumption and price between Intel Atom and Intel Core i processors. Accordingly, the new MacBooks are not as performant as their air siblings. For the M-Core processors consume up to 70 percent less power than the current Core-i processors.

The entry-level model of the MacBook Intel Core M-5Y70 is fitted with 1.1-2.4 GHz. In the mean configuration a higher clocked Intel Core M-5Y70 is (presumably) with 1.2 to 2.6 GHz is used. The top configuration is (unconfirmed) powered by an Intel Core M-5Y71 with 1.3-2.9 GHz.

As already mentioned, the M-Core processors are not as powerful as those from the Core i family. Even with the integrated graphics core i processors are in the lead. The Intel HD 6000 in the MacBook Air, for example, clocked at 300-950 MHz. The Intel HD 5300 MacBook with 100-850 or 300-900 MHz – depending on the processor.

So if you already brings a MacBook Air to its limits, probably with the MacBook have less joy. One should not forget that the MacBook comes without active cooling, and the maximum temperature of the built-core M processors. If the processor is too hot, it throttles itself and thus the system. It has yet to show how well Apple can cool the processor in the MacBook under full load passively and how well does the system as a whole. Probably purely by the numbers here are not dangerous at least the first (new) generation of MacBook MacBook Air.
