At the Build 2018 conference that kicked off today, Microsoft unveiled the new “Your Phone” app for Windows 10. This was created to bring a “copy” of the smartphone to the PC, allowing users to access messages, photos and notifications directly from desktop/laptop.
The features change between iOS and Android devices, but Microsoft has said that the application will allow you to use many features of Android smartphones on PCs with Windows 10. We do not know what are the limitations for Apple devices. This is a solution already embraced by DELL at the beginning of the year, allowing the display of calls and notifications on the PC. At the beginning, the Windows app will allow access to SMS, photos and notifications.
Microsoft will begin testing the app with Insider in the next few hours, and based on feedback, the company will decide when to officially launch the software. Microsoft is currently testing the next major update of Windows 10, codenamed “Redstone 5”.
The Redmond colossus will provide more details about “Your Phone” tomorrow, with a keynote dedicated entirely to Windows.
