Microsoft released Office for iPhone app
Microsoft has officially announced the mobile version of office app for the iPhone. The new iPhone app allows opening and editing files from office suite. Also provides access to documents on remote storage and support autonomous operation.
As the name indicates “Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers” allows to open and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, supports complex content, including diagrams, animations, SmartArt graphics, and shapes.
Edit Office files on the iPhone can be in stand-alone mode, with no internet connection, as well as used to view and edit files, and e-mail attachments.
The new Microsoft iOS app is optimized for iPhone with a screen resolution support for the iPhone 5, in addition of its compatibity to the iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini. In order to run the app to your iDevice, you need to have at least iOS 6.1 or newer firmware.
Office 365 application is free, but in order to access its functionality, you must have a paid subscription to Microsoft cloud service. The cost of the latter for home users is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
