If you are reading this article it means that your surface pro 4 is stuck at surface logo/ boot screen, blinking or won’t boot up at all. In this article, I will explain how to get out of the surface flashing / blinking logo screen or some might say stuck on infinite loop.
There are a couple stuff to do in order to get your Microsoft surface pro 4 tablet running again as usual. This know issue prevent to wake your computer that has been on hiatus and unresponsive. Apparently this is an old topic in the Surface family and most of the time is due to the Intel processor that does not know how to get out of this hibernation. Before doing a hard reset (Force Restart), make sure to get a replacement: if you recently bought the Surface Pro 4 (check the store time frame for the returned policy, I’ll suggest to exchange it to save you the frustration and headache) or if it is too late to return, the steps below will help you solve the issue.
First unplug any attached accessories (keyboard, micro SD card, docking station, etc,…)make sure that your surface pro is fully charge, if not wait, plug it in, wait for at least 20-30 min before stating on the following process:
To reboot your surface pro tablet, click on the power button for 15 seconds, this should re-start your tablet
The second method is to hold the power button + volume up consecutively for 10 seconds with a two seconds interval or until you see your surface pro reboot .
In case all the above do not work, you will have to recover your surface pro tablet using a recovery USB drive backup. If you did not create a recovery image on a USB flash drive, you can download one from here (i recommend using USB 3.0, it will be faster) and do the following steps:
Again, make sure your tablet is somewhat charged then plug your recovery image on the USB flash drive and press the power button and volume down until you see a screen with a couple option, choose “Use a device -> Use a USB” then screen then proceed with Windows 10 recovery.
This should help you fix surface pro 4 stuck at boot logo flashing / blinking. If you have any questions, leave it in the comment below or contact us.
