This is a good news for Android world users, and is that a few hours after being released from the factory image for the Nexus 6, the developers at XDA Developers, and space to the already known developer Chainfire have managed to make and confirm access to Root for Nexus 6 and this is now possible, thanks to them, devices on Android 5.0 lollipop can be rooted, the steps are identical with the Nexus 9, but nothing complicated. This tool has been updated and worked perfectly on the Nexus 6 Lollipop version of Android 5.0.

The process is very simple, you only need to follow the steps described below in order to have super-user privileges by SuperSU your new Nexus 6 that comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop Factory.

Warning:

Before continuing with the procedure, it is necessary to activate the Developer Options for this Settings> About Device and press more than 7 times in a row the number of compilation until a message is displayed notifying the developer options are enabled. Then from your device go to Options and check the box developer Enable OEM unlocking / enable OEM unlock and then below on or tick USB debugging.

Steps on how to Root your Nexus 6 On Android 5.0 Lollipop

1- Download and unzip this file | CF-Auto-Root-shamu-shamu-nexus6.zip

2- When you unzip the .zip file will get a file called “root-windows.bat”

3- Go into bootloader mode (turn the device off and back on by simultaneously pressing Volume Up + Volume Down + Power) and Plug in your device into bootloader mode by USB media to computer and expect it to be recognized by your PC.

4- Run the root-windows.bat file and confirm with ENTER

5- then only be necessary to disconnect the device and restart.

Install TWRP Recovery on your Nexus 6

1- Download TWRP Recovery | OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.8.2.0-shamu.img (rename : recovery)

2- downloaded the zip file will be unzipped anywhere on your PC and then add the recovery.img file to the ADB Tools folder or you can copy it to the platform-tools that have the Android SDK installed on your PC folder.

3- Go into bootloader mode (turn the device off and back on by simultaneously pressing Volume Up + Volume Down + Power) and Plug in your device into bootloader mode by USB media to computer and expect it to be recognized by your PC.

4- Open the folder where ADB Tool have the recovery.img file that were moved in step 2 and press the Shift key + right click and choose open command window here, and you must type the following command and press ENTER:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Immediately after installing the custom recovery (TWRP), you must go to the Fastboot Recovery mode menu, you do it with the Volume Down key, you get far Says Recovery and agree with the Power button. With that confirm that the installation was successful.
