Sony has unveiled a prototype at the conference GDC virtual reality helmet . Device equipped with a display Full HD, was named Project Morpheus.
Project Morpheus going to be used for gaming and non-gaming applications in the PS4. He will work with the camera for the console : it is necessary to fix the moving player. The helmet will also be equipped with a built-in accelerometer , gyroscope, as well as its own sound system. This will change the image in virtual reality in real time. The gadget supports Sony DualShock controller 4 and PlayStation Move.
Full specifications are not yet a helmet , but we know that it will have LCD- display measuring 5 inches. Its resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels ( 960 x 1080 pixels for each eye ) . The device will provide the viewing angle of 90 degrees. It will have HDMI and USB.
Project Morpheus is now a working prototype and is only available for individual developers. In the future, Sony plans to begin production of the commercial version of the helmet. However, the terms of his release and the approximate price is not yet known .
Currently, a release of another virtual reality helmet , which is called Oculus Rift. Its creation was to sponsor using the site Kickstarter in 2012 . However, this device will not work with game consoles . At Oculus Rift will be two models, one designed for the PC, and the second – for smartphones and tablets .
