Volkswagen expects to use CarPlay automotive technology, which Apple introduced earlier this year, with VW cars in 2016, reported by 9to5Mac citing informed sources. CarPlay allows to connect your iPhone to the system board machines and use the phone as fully as possible, without being distracted while on the road.
According to a source, a statement of partnership between Volkswagen and Apple should be announced in the coming months. Currently in Cupertino developing the second version CarPlay, which will allow you to connect your iPhone to vehicles without the use of USB-cable – via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
CarPlay features will be supported iniPhone 5s, 5c and 5 running iOS 7.1 or later. This technology brings optimized applications such as Phone, Messages, Maps and Music on the display and speakers infotainment system of the vehicle. You can interact with voice commands, buttons on the car and touch screen. Supported third-party applications like Spotify, Beats Music, MLB.TV, and others.
This year, several automakers announced plans to release cars with integrated technology CarPlay. Among them, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo – later joined by a number of other companies. According to forecasts ABI Research, by 2019 more than 24 million new cars will be equipped with support CarPlay.
