Winterboard, the framework for all users who like to customize the theme of their jailbroken iPhone, is in fact now compatible with iOS 9.The new version of Winterboard on Cydia this is indeed compatible with iOS and then allows you to install new themes on the iPhone. Previously, the app crashed with Spotlight and slowed the use of iOS. All the problems have been solved and now the themes can be installed without any problem.
It may not be used by all users, but the fact that Winterboard is compatible with iOS 9 is certainly great news for the jailbreak community. The known Saurik has provided a brief changelog of version 0.9.3919 of the framework:
- 9.x: Fixed the bug of the icons of the Calendar (Surenix)
- 9.x: Fixed the issue of the continuing crash in the Spotlight search
To install and apply themes to the iPhone, all you have to do is then install Winterboard from Cydia and the selected theme; then open the Settings app and scroll to Winterboard, press “Select Themes” and then activate the voice (or voices if the theme is customizable) chosen theme. Then click on “Winterboard” to go back and then “respring”. After a quick reboot, your iPhone will show the new theme running.
Saurik said that Winterboard for iOS 9 has been tested mainly by Surenix using the theme ayecon. Considering this, customers may experience some of the same problems that Saurik calls for reporting.
