In October Keynote, Apple presented quite a few products, among which is the renewal of the iPad Pro range, an important jump that says goodbye to the Home button and integrates Face ID technology.
It is not the only change that these new Apple devices have received, the iPad Pro now also includes new screen sizes as well as connectivity via USB-C.
The first thing to highlight is the fact that we are facing a first 11-inch model that will replace the previous 10.5-inch model, however, despite the new design, it is still maintaining the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model. The new design has curves only in the front, while the sides and edges are completely flat.
The frames contain the way to reset the space for the Home button and this paves the way to the introduction of the Face ID that will detect the face in 3D in any position you will keep it!
The Lightning door disappeared in favor of the USB Type-C so as to push versatility with other devices to a new level. The performances have improved on all fronts and the configurations available will be many.
Apple decided to have on the iPad Pro the same Liquid Retina panels that the iPhone XR. The iPad Pro in both versions has four speakers (two in the bottom and two in the top) with which offer a spectacular stereo sound that is powerful and clear.
Users complained that a product which only physical connection was owned by Apple, and with few adapters, could not be called “Pro”. Now the Lightning is the versatile USB-C, for which the firm of Cupertino already has a good battle of official adapters for “reasonable prices”. We are not clear yet the possibility of compatibility that iOS 12 will offer with this type of connection, but we hope that at least at the beginning it is quite limited within the standards of the firm.
A12X processor and a single camera
The most powerful processor manufactured for an iOS device to date arrives at the iPad Pro, which will make this iPad Pro have nothing to envy to most laptops on the market, positioning itself as the most powerful “mobile device” without any doubt. It uses the A12X Bionic processor with 64-bit architecture and Neural Engine, which also has the M12 co-processor integrated. Without a doubt, Apple has put “all the meat in the spit” at the power level in the iPad Pro, although we do not have official data RAM.
The 12 MP camera with focal aperture f/1.8 for the rear is maintained, which allows us to take advantage of the True Tone Flash. We can record with it up to resolutions 4K to 60 FPS and slow motion 1080p to 120 FPS. Another highlight is that thanks to the huge amount of microphones, we will have the audio pickup in stereo. The front camera with 7 MP with all the technology that True Depth cameras that make up the Face ID remains the same.
Prices and availability of the iPad Pro
