When Apple presented the iPad to 2010 market, it debuted with Apple's own onboard chip: Apple A4. It got them off of the processors developed by Samsung in the iPhone 3G and 3G were used. That this was an important development for Apple, according to a conversation that TechCrunch had an anonymous Silicon Valley CEO, in his work at the time a thousand men to develop new, smaller and more economical chips.
TechCrunch's source is not named, but according to the website is a veteran Silicon Valley Steve Jobs knew personally. He would therefore have heard of the man himself.
Apple continued in 2009 its own chip division. The thousand workers who are now under attack quite significant: they are currently 50,000 employees, 30,000 are located in retail. Of the remaining 20,000 is only five percent are so busy producing new chips.
