Last month, in the beta version of iOS 13.2, MacRumors discovered an icon depicting AirPods with a different design, acknowledging rumors that Apple is planning to release high-end AirPods Pro with active with noise-canceling features and better water resistance.
The new AirPods should be released by the end of 2019 or early 2020. In advance, accessory manufacturer ESR released both a cover and a case for so-called AirPods Pro, with product images depicting a larger charging case designed to insert new AirPods.
The fact that ESR is already building the first enclosures for the new AirPods suggests that the accessories manufacturer may already be aware of the size and design of the product, probably thanks to sources from within Apple’s supply chain. On the other hand, this could simply be a marketing strategy.
High-end AirPods should have a higher price than the current model priced at $199 with the wired charging case and rumors indicate that the new AirPods will cost around $260 with the wireless charging case.
