Apple has released new AirPods with wireless charging, new chip and “Hey, Siri” feature.
The expected released of the new AirPods is already available for purchase on the Apple website.
The new AirPods as a great novelty include the expected wireless charging box with the LED from the front. Wireless charging is compatible with Qi charging cradles. They also have the Lightning connection of the old AirPods.
The other great novelty is the “Hey, Siri” feature, which will allow us to invoke Apple’s assistant with our voice, without needing to touch one of the AirPods twice.
The AirPods themselves seem to have also been renewed with the new H1 chip, which “includes optical sensors and motion accelerometers that will detect if you’re wearing them” and improve connection time when changing one device to another.
In addition, when you talk on the phone or ask Siri for something, a second accelerometer activates the microphones with beamforming technology to filter the background noise and bring your voice to the foreground. The beamforming technology is the one with the HomePod in its presentation.
The battery still offers 5 hours of music and 3 hours of conversation (1 hour more than the previous version) and, thanks to the charge of the box, allows us more than 24 hours of use.
The starting price for the new AirPods is $199 with wireless charging case and $159 for AirPods with a standard charging case. Both AirPods have been renewed and AirPods without wireless charge maintain the price of the last AirPods. You can also purchase the wireless charging box alone for $79.
AirPods with wireless charging case will be available in 3 – 5 business days and AirPods with a normal charging case on March 26 – 28.
