Apple in talks with Foursquare over Maps



Apple is in talks with Foursquare about using Foursquare data in Apple’s map service. The Wall Street Journal writes based sources familiar with the plans. In this way, Maps in Apple iOS 6 is to be improved. The first talks would have taken place in recent weeks. Involved in the negotiations, Eddy Cue, who earlier this month for the first time appeared to check in with Foursquare and shared this on Twitter.

” Apple Inc. is in early discussions to integrate local data from Foursquare Labs Inc. into its mapping application, according to people familiar with the talks, as the company continues to build an arsenal of local data to try to take on Google Inc.”

Foursquare, only one of the parties that Apple currently in talks about sharing location data for Apple Maps. Earlier stories revealed that Apple also TomTom plans would have. According to The Wall Street Journal points out nothing on a takeover of Foursquare by Apple.

Apple’s new map service has long been criticized by users. Some sites would not be on the cards are listed, or sometimes in a totally different place lie . Apple CEO Tim Cookapologized already for the current status of the iOS 6 Maps App service. The recently released Google Maps application was 48 hours downloaded 10 million times .
