In yesterday’s keynote, Apple presented the new Mac Mini and the new MacBook Air Retina, two products that get Apple ecosystem experience to a new level.
The new Mac Mini was made with 60% recycled plastic and 100% recycled aluminum. Performance improves on every front with faster processors, more capacious internal memory and a RAM with even faster-operating frequency.
The Apple-security partnership continues to evolve with the Chip and a series of precautions to keep your data safe and implementation of the T2 Chip that performs several operations, as well as ensuring the safety of the product and sensitive data. In terms of connectivity, we find four Thunderbolt 3 ports, an HDMI port and two USB of traditional type (USB-A). Present 10GB Ethernet connectivity.
This Mac mini can also be used as a server. Clearly, it Mac comes without a monitor, as it has always been so it will be necessary to provide for the purchase of a monitor at the height to exploit it to the fullest. The price starts at $799
MacBook Air With Retina
Along comes a new version of AppleMacBook Air Retina laptop, which also was made out of 100% recycled aluminum. Eighth-generation processors made by Intel and the SSD will be 60% faster than its predecessor.
Touch ID and T2
The new MacBook Air with Retina Display is equipped with TouchID and Chip T2, featuring a 13.3-inch diagonal screen of 4 million pixels, which has been quadrupled compared to the old generation and reduced the edges. The iconic aluminum edges disappear to make room for black frames reduced in style MacBook Pro.
As we know, the TouchID provides authentication, open to online payment thanks to Apple Pay while the T2 chip is a custom design from Apple that deals with the SSD encryption. The system function management acts as an audio and video controller that enables features like “Hey Siri” and acts as a hardware video encoder for formats such as H264 and HEVC.
The resolution rises to 2560×1600, a color depth increased by 48% and a greater viewing angle, a big improvement compared to previous devices.
Apple promises the usual super-autonomy dedicated to MacBooks Air able to cover a full working day and 12 hours of wireless web browsing and 13 hours of video playback on iTunes, unlike the old MacBook Air.
MacBookAir with Retina display is equipped with 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, with support for the connection of a 5K display, an eGPU and is able to recharge our laptop. The audio jack is still on the opposite side.
