Apple launches a new Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, featuring a camera button.
This year’s new Smart Battery Case is similar in style to the ones available for the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, but with a square-shaped cutout to adapt to dual and triple-lens camera configurations.
The cases are made of silicone with a soft microfiber lining to protect the iPhone and a hinged design to facilitate the installation and removal of the case. Apple offers cases in pink sand, black, and cream white colors, while the version for iPhone 11 is only available in white and black.
The novelty of this year is the dedicated camera button on the case, designed to start the Camera app whether the iPhone is locked or unlocked. A push of the button takes a picture and a longer press captures the QuickTake video.
Just like last year’s cases, the new Smart Battery Case is compatible with Qi-based chargers so that both the case and the iPhone can be charged simultaneously. According to Apple, the cases are designed to guarantee up to 50% longer battery life for each iPhone when fully charged.
The cases are now available for purchase from the online Apple Store, with delivery scheduled for orders Friday 22 November 22 for $129.
