Apple remains the largest seller of smartphones in the U.S.


In step with our colleagues to Apple Insider , Apple is once again the largest smartphone manufacturer in the United States, with 28% market share held by the iPhone. Meanwhile Android operating system is the most present on U.S. smartphone with 43% of the market for mobile operating systems.


Note that in September, analyst firm Nielsen had published identical results, which accounted for the month of June 2011. The RIM BlackBerry platform is present in 18% of smartphone.Microsoft Windows Mobile is fourth with 7% market share. Overall, all these smartphone represent 43% of phones in the U.S. market. 57% are conventional models.

Analysts continue: 62% of adults aged 25 to 34 report having a smartphone. They are 54% owned 35/44 18/24 years as a smartphone. Outside of these groups, smartphones are not the most popular mobile. In Gorup 56 to 64 years, they are present only 30%. They are in addition 40% of 12/17 year old has one.
