Apple Starts Selling Lightning-Based Headphones That Cost More Than The iPhone

Audeze-EL-8The rumors suggest that the iPhone will lose seven 3.5mm jack, which we always used to connect the headset to the phone. The fact that Apple has started selling high-end headphones that connect through the Lightning suggests that these rumors are not going misguided. A few hours ago, the company has put on sale headphones Audeze EL-8 Titanium.

The Audeze EL-8 Titanium is a variant of an earlier model that was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas earlier this year. And the most spectacular of these headphones, which of course offer amazing audio quality, is its price: $799.95. We can suspect that “the hand” of Angela Ahrendts walks behind this strategy, since the aim of the vice president of retail Apple is that the company does not lose its luxury label.

We must emphasize, though, that this model is one of the cheapest in the Audeze brand, which used to launch products with higher prices. One of the reasons that the cost rises, is the fact that the company uses the Cypher cable needed to feed the Audeze, which are connected directly to Lighthing iPhone. Therefore, you can not listen to music and charge the phone’s battery simultaneously. This new model includes a microphone and controls for playing music.
