A new report published by Bloomberg leaves no doubt that Apple will likely launch the 16-inch MacBook Pro today. The wait for the Mac Pro, however, continues until December.
After the rumors of a private meeting with the press, yesterday new confirmations arrive on the imminent launch of this expected 16-inch MacBook Pro.
Bloomberg reiterates much of what we already know of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. According to this source, the laptop will include a brighter 16-inch display and a more reliable keyboard, defining this model as the “first major update of the MacBook Pro line after the arrival of the Touch Bar three years ago”.
The display was designed especially for those who edit videos and photos, but also for software developer players.
According to the latest information, the new MacBook Pro should mount an LCD panel provided by LG Display, with a resolution of 3,072×1,920 pixels. The 15-inch MacBook Pro has a resolution of 2,880×1,800 pixels.
Also, Gurman states that the new 16-inch MacBook Pro will have “impressive speakers” and “noise-canceling microphones” to allow users to capture less background noise when using the built-in microphone, thereby improving dictation and FaceTime calls. The keyboard should be more similar to the one used on the Magic Keyboard for iMac and Mac mini.
As for the price, Bloomberg claims that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will cost similarly to the 15-inch model, which starts at $2,399. This laptop should completely replace the 15-inch model, which will disappear from the Apple price list.
As for the Mac Pro presented by Apple during the last WWDC, the latest rumors speak of a delayed launch in December for both this computer and the 32-inch XDR Pro Display. Specifically, the Mac Pro should be available from December 14th.
