Apple To Release 5.8 And 6.5-Inch OLED iPhones, 6.1-Inch LCD In 2019

The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are now in stores, but still waiting on the iPhone XR, which pre-order starts later this week, but that does not stop the well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from looking forward to the 2019 iPhones lineup. He thinks that Apple will release the iPhone in three different sizes: 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.5-inch.

Apple, therefore, seems to continue the trend of three new iPhones per year according to Ming-Chi Kuo. The 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.5-inch for the 2019 iPhones, successors to the current iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.

Kuo also pointed out that the largest and the smallest screen will both get an OLED screen, just like in 2018. Apple seems to be holding on to LCD for the time being, because the 6.1-inch iPhone next year gets an LCD screen again according to the analyst. This is not the first time we hear that Apple is still holding on. LCD is still the most popular screen in 2019, sources reported earlier.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 2019 remains just as water-resistant as is now the case with the iPhone XS. Apple releases a phone with an IP68 rating for the first time, which means that you can keep it under deep water without damaging it. Up to the iPhone 8, there was an IP67 rating.

Finally, Kuo also predicts that the iPhone XR demand is higher than anticipated, Apple will sell 36 to 38 million units during the holiday season. With these figures, Apple will have more to sell than last year with the iPhone 8.
