iPod Touch

It’s been three years since the iPod touch upgrade and the next-gen might be presented this Fall.  The iPod Touch is a device that has slowly been cannibalized by the iPhone. Although at first he enjoyed great success with the public, because basically offered a similar smartphone apple with the obvious impossibility to make calls or connect to a mobile network experience, gradually gone being displaced by the different iPhone generations.

First, because the price of admission to the line of iPhone has gradually and, more importantly reducing because Apple has stopped updating the iPod Touch so regularly and has been clearly out of step with the iPhone. However, close to Apple’ sources have recently informed Appleinsider a new iPod Touch could be released later this year.

Apparently, the design of the next generation media player would be very similar to the present, so that initially the format of 4 inches would be preserved and not jump to 4.7 would. Thus radicarían improvements in the incorporation of a new camera and a more powerful processor.

As for the processor, the new iPod Touch could incorporate a 64-bit A7 chip, which iPhone 5s are in the past. The front and rear camera would also be improved, although it has not specified specifically what would be the equivalent in the current line of iPhone. Is also expected to incorporate fingerprint Touch ID, NFC sensor to make payments via Apple Pay and increased internal storage options.

The current iPod Touch was introduced in 2012 alongside the iPhone 5 and since then the device has not experienced any update. Although the company does not usually break down sales of devices of the same category in the last quarter of iPod sold 2.9 million, a figure that highlights the decline suffered this category who gave so much to Apple in the past were reported.

As we read on MacRumors, if the information is correct, we might see a new generation of iPod Touch in the event that takes place every year in the month of September and that used to be reserved for the new iPhone.
