The fifth-gen Apple TV finally gets a long awaited update with one of the demands most requested by consumers; now supports 4K and HDR, a brand new version that comes with the same design. This is one of the most repetitive requests of Apple TV users to the company comes true: 4K support and support for HDR TVs. Now the company does it with an update of the Apple TV that brings as a novelty the support for Ultra High Definition and high dynamic range. But they are not the only features added to the 5th generation of Apple shine box.
The most interesting thing is, without a doubt, the compatibility with HRD that besides the increase of the resolution, is the one that generates greater leap in color and contrast with respect to the traditional systems. Among all proprietary HDR systems, each of its brand, Apple has highlighted, above all, compatibility with Dolby Vision, one of the most widespread and complete in the current market of 4K TV with this technology.
The new Apple TV 4K comes with the A10X chip, with 2x CPU and 4x GPU to generate enough power to move content to 4K + HDR. Also, as a novelty, all the content of movies purchased in iTunes HD, will become 4K at no extra charge, in addition to full compatibility with applications such as Netflix or Amazon Prime and its contents in 4K.
Of course, the company has also confirmed that its TV application, which combines channels and subscriptions to cable services, will continue, for now, without reaching Spain or Latin America, nor will their live sports functions and see later which will be available in other regions.
Price And Avaialability
The new Apple TV 4K starting price is set at $179 depending on the storage capacity and will go on sale on September 22.
