DigiTimes today renews its ambition that Apple will offer two models for the iPad 3 to its customers . According to some industry sources, Apple intends to target an even wider audience with the next tablet. The goal is to attract all budgets. Thus, the Cupertino company would intend to propose an iPad … 299 dollars for the entry level, or $ 200 less than today. It would be equipped with the processor Apple A6 .

In fact the model “high end” would be well. A difference exists between the two: the screen resolution . The cheapest would continue to have 1024 × 768 (resolution of the iPad 1 & 2) while that with a slightly higher rate (equivalent at current prices) would be hosting the 2048 × 1536, or as the screen Retina expected.

Sources from Apple’s supply chain have claimed that there will be two versions of the new iPad, one targeting the high-end segment and the other the mid-range. Digitimes Research believe the two new iPad models will both be equipped the A6 processor with high-end model coming with a high resolution panel (2048×1536) and the mid-tier model featuring the same grade of panel as iPad 2 (1024×768).

DigiTimes is difficult to identify unfortunately. Admittedly, some rumors reported by the website in the past have proven true, but none in its entirety.
