9to5Mac reported that DigiTimes has claimed in that Largan Precision is the main supplier for the 8-megapixel lens module for Apple's new upcoming iPhone 5. However, there is a new report from the Taiwan Economic News claims that Apple has signed a contract with two manufacturers who use the new 8-megapixel camera should provide for the new iPhone 5. For not only Largan Precision will supply Apple, but also the Electronic company Genius Optical.
The two production companies Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical will be the selected supplier for the camera. Both companies have already supplied the lens module for the iPhone 4 and should work together during production, since they will share their largest customers continue.
By the orders in the last year, the two manufacturers have achieved a combined market share of 27.5 per cent and this rise will be exacerbated by even the iPhone 5.
It is not surprising that Apple chooses two different sources for their ingredients. This creates a certain rivalry between the companies and the quality is improved then. Furthermore, the Group can therefore keep production costs relatively low down. Also for the production of the iPhone, Apple has chosen two five different manufacturers, Foxconn and Pegatron will assemble the final product.
As you can see in the depicted iPhone 5 Cases, the cutout for the camera is noticeably larger than the iPhone 4 case. Currently, one can assume that the iPhone 5 with very high probability of an A5 processor and an 8-megapixel camera is equipped. The design and other components are currently still unclear and purely speculative.
