Cyanogen has announced a partnership with the Indian manufacturer Micromax which uses firmware CyanogenMod on its new smartphones. In this regard, the Indian manufacturer will launch a new range of devices under the brand novo Yu. The first smartphone, which were not disclosed price and features, will hit the market next month.
The aim of this agreement is two-fold according to the two companies. On the one hand Cyanogen will offer a highly optimized version of Android for those who purchase a mid-range device, other smart phone Micromax can offer up to date with new software and integrated services.
The promises of Cyanogen and Micromax are the same as Android One, the Google program created to offer quality products, constantly updated on emerging markets which has also joined the Indian producer as a partner for the official launch in September .
Vikram Natarajan, vice president of partnerships and worldwide distribution of Cyanogen said that the two companies plan to work together to integrate some applications and local services directly into the operating system.
