CyanogenMod 9 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich Coming quickly!!!

In our final report on the CyanogenMod we had already mentioned that Cyanogen is the version number skip 8. The reason for this jump is the release version of the source code of Android 4.0.1 , because until now, the code of the previous version of Android Honeycomb been released. The developers have now the possibility of all information from the new code to split, but this is not necessary.

Because with the latest version of CyanogenMod for both smartphones and tablets available and reached a new status. Because today is the special firmware available for only a very small number of tablets, which always "only" had a version of Android Gingerbread provided.

The actual information coming directly from the CyanogenMod blog, there were three days ago, a new post of the developers. It says that they now have multiple devices with Android Ice Cream Sandwich are going. However, the article only a few devices are addressed. Probably the worst news, users get the Droid, because this phone is to receive an update on Ice Cream Sandwich. An update can expect all androids who use the following processors:

"… Mostly likely be based on OMAP4 devices, MSM8660/7X30, and Exynos …"

Tablet users can breathe a lot too, because there are many devices receive an update with a Tegra2 processors. As an example, the developer room the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 , and the Asus EEE Pad Transformer. A big brother of the Asus Tablets is delivered according to latest information already officially running Android 4.0.

Some older devices can also expect an update, but only on the CyanogenMod 7, which has not yet been ported to all devices.

Furthermore, the developers speak very positively to the new version of Android, even if they have to invest some of their latest version of programming:

"Google has made some pretty major changes to the Android framework that break compatibility with older proprietary camera and graphics drivers in order to Achieve some pretty insane performance, but I am confident that the team will be able to overcome these issues like we have in the past. "

Once there is new information about individual devices, we will of course tell you about it.
