DuckDuckGo search engine focused mainly on privacy has announced that it is using Apple’s MapKit JS framework for all searches related to the addresses on the portal, both mobile and desktop.

MapKit JS enables DuckDuckGo to provide users with better address searches, new visual features, satellite imagery, and continuously updated maps without sacrificing user privacy.

DuckDuckGo explains that Apple maps will be available in both private search results for relevant queries and in the Maps tab on any of the search results pages.

To make Apple maps appear, users need to look for an address, a geographic location, a local business, a type of business or places nearby.

DuckDuckGo does not collect or share any personal information from users who use the search engine, a policy that also explains why Apple Maps was chosen.
