The USB charger is now an object of the most common thing used, specially on Apple mobile devices.  A plug on one side, a USB connector on the other and the voltage drops to 110/220 volts at 5/10 volts required for all mobile devices.

Like most manufacturers, Apple has designed its own USB chargers. From the outside this block of white plastic seems rather insignificant. Inside is another story as was discovered by Ken Shirrif by opening a charger. His section is (very) long and (very) technical, but it appears that the manufacturer of Cupertino has worked particularly object apparently so trivial.

Shirriff writes:

The USB output also has specific resistances connected to the data pins to indicate to the iPhone how much current the charger can supply, through a proprietary Apple protocol. An iPhone displays the message “Charging is not supported with this accessory” if the charger has the wrong resistances here.

The AC adapter / USB Apple had done a very simple voltage conversion, but it does so in surprising ways. The conversion process is described as innovative and complex at once. The details will interest only the most savvy readers of electronics, but it is fascinating that all the apple products have a radical sense of detail.

One of the two circuits present in the American version of the magazine. All components are really miniaturized.

The iPhone charger reduces example, EMI interference, presumably to avoid interference with the touchscreen. There are additional protections for Apple's power adapter in, for example to prevent overheating. And the insulation between primary and secondary circuit board performed better than the safety regulations. Apple has a lot of technology with the adapter into a small space together. There is of course a considerable price tag, but when eBay bought an iPhone charger in flames, the better you know why you had to purchase more expensive original.

This analysis also calls for a conclusion very convenient. sold roughly for $30 , Apple USB charger is much more expensive than other equivalent products on the paper. Still, the manufacturer has chosen quality components and a unique design that guarantees the safety of the terminal to load, but also limits interference with components of iOS devices.

A low-end loader and unbranded also handle the battery of your iPhone, but you will not be immune to a problem if the electricity is poor or unstable. Between a shipper to $30 and a mobile device that exceeds $500, the most reasonable choice seems obvious .
